URBAN DANCE

Urban Dance, which is blend of jazz, contemporary, hip hop and musical theatre, is taught by Laura Begg. This exciting new syllabus has been specially designed with today's young dancers in mind. The music is funky, the moves are cool, and we are the first studio to introduce this dance form to Taranaki. Students are prepared for Assessments. Competition work is also available. Classes are provided for ages 6 to 18 years of age. All classes run during normal school terms with breaks taken during the school holidays.

What do dancers wear?
Junior and Intermediate levels wear black regulation pants and a red regulation leotard and black jazz boots.
Senior levels wear black regulation pants and a black regulation leotard and black jazz boots.
All these items are available at the Dance Shop in Top Town. The shop is open 11am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 2pm on Saturday.

Concourse
BBO Concourse is held around July every year and involves a week of workshops for dancers and teachers of ballet, urban and musical theatre, as well as an evening of competition for the Espinosa Award. It is a wonderful opportunity for dancers to compare themselves with other dancers around New Zealand, and to really extend their skills. Every dancer who has taken part in a Concourse has come away highly enthused and inspired.
Concourse is designed for students from 8 years old upwards.
Please contact Miss Chere personally (754 3044 mornings) if you have any questions.
