Chere McGregor teaches ballet, tap and Ceroc. She is the Principal of the school and has been involved in the dance world all her life. She started as a ballet student at the age of 3 and was taught by Beryl Quay and Dawn McAlpine of New Plymouth. Chere attained many successes in her competition and examination work in the areas of ballet and tap dancing, and it was not long before she realised that her dream was to teach and choreograph.
Family committments took her away from Taranaki but not from dancing. Returning to New Plymouth in 1991 she started teaching clogging and the Taranaki Mountain Cloggers was established. Because of her great passion for ballet it was inevitable that she would soon branch out, and the present ballet school was established in 1999 and now includes tap, jazz and Ceroc.
Chere is a member of both the British Ballet Organisation and the Royal Academy of Dance. In September 2006 she passed her BBO Associate 2 Teachers' Examination with Distinction.
